I'm largely annoyed with St. Ives' habit of continually discontinuing their products. I've lost a couple of really nice products that way, and this is one of them.
I have extremely sensitive skin that's prone to break outs. I don't know how this one caused break outs for so many people, but a little goes a long way, and I wear this under my sunscreen.
Also, if your skin is easily irritated by fragrances, this moisturizer is perfect for you as it has little or no fragrance. The fact that it's dirt cheap helps too.

Like many others, I bought this moisturizer after reading the reviews here on MUA. It worked fine initially, however after some time I started developing a plethora of clogged pores on my forehead! So I restricted its use to the less oily parts of my face ie. cheeks. Unfortunately, my cheeks have been geting drier lately so this oil-free moisturizer just didn't cut it.
Being the big bottle that it is, there was still a decent amount left so I delegated it to one of my male friends. Sadly his feedback hasn't been encouraging - he claims that it is too oily for his face :(
Oh well, this has been discontinued now so I don't think you'll find it in drugstores anymore. For reference, here is a list of the ingredients:
Water, C12-15 Alkyl Octanoate, C12-15 Alcohol Benzoate, Cyclomethicone, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Cornflower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Sorbitol, Allantoin, Urea, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Sodium PCA, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sunflower Extract, Elder Flower, Matricaria Extract, Primrose Extract, Ceteth-10 Phosphate, Dicetyl Phosphate, Ethylene Brassylate, Carbomer, Acrylated/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Cross Polymer, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Propylene Glycol.

i love this cream, its so light and makes my skin feel so fresh, unlike other creams i use on my face (which is really oily) its doesnt feel heavy or greasy, feels so great, just a lil dab will do fine, and its so cheap. however, i hear this is discontinued, but its okay cause i stocked up. but its my fav face cream.

I saw this product on sale and since it was oil-free, I decided to purchase it. I really like the consistency of this. It's like a lotion/gel texture. I applied this to my whole face the first few nights but then I started to get a few little bumps on my forehead. I realized that this was probably the cause of it so I stopped using it for a while. But then I got the idea to use it only on my cheek and neck areas. (since I have combination skin w/ slight monthly breakouts) It working great for that!

hate this moisturizer. i don't know what in it breaks me out, but after i use it, i always have an acne flare up. the flip top cap also broke off really quickly. i'm using it up on other places of my body where i need light moisture, like eyelids and hands, because it works great for that and feels so silky. horrible on my face, though!

This is (if you can still get it) a very nice, light moisturizer for the price. I use it on my combo skin--only the dry parts of course--and it keeps it comfortable all day.

I must have gone through half a dozen bottles of this stuff during high school (when I had no clue how to properly care for my skin). I had very acne prone oily skin back then, and this did not make it any better. It left a coating, yes greasy coating, over my face. I looked shiny right after applying it and looked like a greaseball by the end of the day. What the heck was I thinking?

Gaaaa! I don't see why they has to discontinue this! This is a great moisturizer for my combination skin that doesn't break me out. once I used this on my forehead where I had dry, flaky zits and it helped them get better. This provides just enough moisture for my dry spots. I guess I'll have to swap for this when I run out.

I bought this as an alternative to Paula's Choice Gel moisturizer. I find that this does well for spot moisturizing otherwise it gets a bit too heavy on my face. Lasts along time, so not sure if I really would repurchase or search for other ones.

I love St. Ives Oil-Free Moisturizer and it's the best facial lotion I have found. I have very dry skin to the point where I have to apply lotion to my face immediately after it gets wet (and then dries) b/c within 5 minutes tops, the skin gets hard, feels tough and very dry looking and feeling. I only rinse my face with water every other day and still don't really get pimples, just the occasional 1 or 2 but nothing like acne which shows just how dry my skin is considering I am not really even cleansing it w/ soap.
Anyway, I have very sensitive skin on top of the dryness but after seeing this lotion in CVS a few years back I decided to buy b/c it was very cheap and I needed a face lotion. It has no side effects on my face and is very good at giving moisture. It is not thick, not greasy and abosorbs very quickly. I often use this lotion for my hands as well b/c of the no grease/quick absorb thing which is what people want out of a hand lotion.
I will say that the strength is not the best b/c I apply 2 times a day at least in globs. There are no lasting effect b/c once my face gets wet and dries, it's back to being very dry.
However, I am not in the market for a new face lotion b/c this is by far the best product I have tried, it's the right price and there is no scent which is nice.
I have to buy this online now b/c it seems to have disappeared from store shelves. I hope there is nothing wrong w/ the product since I use it so often but I def. recommend.

After forgetting about this product for a while, I discovered again how much I love it. It goes on very light but absorbs and keeps my skin nice. My face doesn't feel dry after using this and it doesn't feel like an oil slick either. My only complaint is I haven't been able to find it in any stores lately. I've seen it online, but I think I'm gonna try and hit a few more stores and buy a few if they have it, it really works for my skin which tends to be on the dry side.

Picked this up on a whim because I really needed a basic moisturizer. This stuff is really good quality for about $3.50 a tube. I am on my third tube right now but I am still searching for something better because this moisturizer is not perfect. It has a gel-cream texture and goes on very light and not at all greasy. Absorbs quickly and leaves skin dewy. I didn't have any problems with it breaking me out or clogging my pores. Whenever I need my face to just be moisturized and don't care if I am getting any other benefits like anti-aging or skin-clearing then I slap some of this on. It works well for this basic purpose. Wish it came in a soft tube though.

I'm gonna be the minority here. I have oily face with a few pimples. Although this moisturizer is oil free, it still clogged my pores and made my face very greasy. I love the package and the price is great. Will not repurchase.

I have combo/oily acne prone skin, and I used to never use moisturizer at night. However, I'm using retin-a now, and my skin gets really flaky and tight if I don't put some kind of moisturizer on it at night before I go to bed. This moisturizer is perfect for my acne-prone skin. It does leave my skin kind of dewy, but not oily. My face looks much better in the morning after using this...less flaky and more hydrated and healthy. I prefer to use something with an SPF during the day, but I've used this during the day a few times under my makeup. Overall, this is super cheap, and it is a great moisturizer for combo/oily acne prone skin.

It was only by a fluke that I began using this product. My sister-in-law didn't want it anymore so I got it as a hand me down. After using so many other high end moisturizers I am going to be bold and say that this might be my HG moisturizer! It's cheap, non-greasy, absorbs fully into my skin and has a very light scent. I have oily combination skin and find that this totally balances out my skin without making me breakout. The only problem I have had is not being able to find it in the stores anymore. I hope that this product is not being discontinued, I have been able to find it online though. Great product, def worth a try! :)

I usually hate St. Ives bc of a horrible allergic reaction I had to their Apricot scrub years back. But having never been fully satisfied with any facial moisturizer and having read the non-irritating ingredients in this moisturizer I thought it couldn't hurt. I must say the ingredients are fabulously non-irritating and non-comedogenic. This is a very gentle moisturizer. I have slightly dry skin and this works fabulously. It is a fairly light moisturizer and dries very quickly. Not for the super dry folks. But good for slightly dry, combo, and oily. I use it twice a day and that's perfect for me. After it dries, my face feels really soft and smooth. I've never had a moisturizer that's done that. No fragrance which my skin loves. Although for some reason this particular St. Ives product is very hard to find in drugstores. None in my area (Bay Area, CA) sell this so I had to go to Ulta. Still super cheap there, $2.99. I can't believe how much money I've wasted on ehh moisturizers while my HG moisturizer was St. Ives. Who would have thought it. INGREDIENTS:Water, C12-15 Alkyl Octanoate, C12-15 Alcohol Benzoate, Cyclomethicone, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Cornflower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Sorbitol, Allantoin, Urea, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Sodium PCA, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sunflower Extract, Elder Flower, Matricaria Extract, Primrose Extract, Ceteth-10 Phosphate, Dicetyl Phosphate, Ethylene Brassylate, Carbomer, Acrylated/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Cross Polymer, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Propylene Glycol.
UPDATE!!!~ i stand corrected. im so ticked! i have concluded this moisturizer, with extended use, clogs my pores. it was so nice for weeks, but then weird breakouts began. i discontinued use and the weird breakouts ceased. I def will never use this again! tear...

The only moisturizer that doesn't break out my skin. I'm oily but I still deserve a moisturizer & most cosmetics companies do not understand this. So far, the best I've found & the price makes it an insanely good buy. Squeeze tube/bottle is easy to use & doesn't waste product.
The Negative: I can't find it in my local area anymore, so I ordered multiple bottles at an online drugstore. continued >>
